Do We Have That Much Courage And Confidence To Execute Our Power And Rights?

The constitution of India was accepted and adopted by the constituent assembly on 26 November 1949 and after two months; it was implemented on 26 Jan 1950. The best thing came out of this constitution who gives an ultimate power to every citizen of this country is the fundamental rights which have been mentioned in article 14 to 32 of the constitution. It is so powerful that – if you think that your fundamental right is in danger, you can directly challenge the Supreme Court and Supreme Court is bound to listen to it. That is great news - but, do we have that much courage and confidence to execute our power and rights…? Suppose we are going on the road, a traffic police stops us. Most of us get disturbed because we do not know what the power we have as a citizen of this country. Why did India remain a slave for so many years?

  Since the inception of the civilization, India has always been a center of attraction for the foreign invaders, because of its richness and abundance. Persian, Greece, Arabs, Turk, Mongol, Portuguese, Dutch and French came with their own ambitions and motives. They invaded, looted, plundered, massacred, exploited and ruled over us the way they wanted. We fought, but something went wrong and this mighty country became the slave of the handful people of foreign invaders. The major reason was – we were divided into states and we did not have one constitution of this country which could connect and collide the forces of the isolated states which could stand and fight against the foreign forces. The first person who understood the need for one constitution of this country was – the great Chanakya.
