330 million gods and goddesses, is it reality!

According to the majority of the Hindu belief, there are 33 crore or 330 million gods and goddesses. This belief is not new; it exists from last approximately 5 thousand years. In these five thousand years, the no. of gods and goddesses has remained constant, neither increased nor decreased. The population of the world has increased so hugely in these years, the world has experienced a lot of changes during these periods, but no. of gods and goddesses did not show any changes according to the changes of the world.  WHY?

Do we require recalculating the no. of gods and goddesses? Or are we mistaking in understanding the interpretation of the meaning of the population of the gods and goddesses mentioned?  Why the maximum population of the gods and goddesses have emerged from India only! However, this is not the nature of gods and goddesses to create the discrimination among the creatures and confine themselves in a particular geography!

According to the Bhagawat Gita (10:20, 15:15, 18:61 and many other places):-- “God resides in the heart of everyone”. It might be possible that the population of the world would be 330 million at that time, and by considering the above verses, the scholar of yore called the persons gods and goddesses!

The population of the gods and goddesses has not been mentioned in Veda, the most ancient and authentic scriptures of the Hinduism. In case of any doubt with any other Hindu scriptures, Veda is referred. It is the direct revelation of the God. Why God forget to provide the revelation of the population of these gods and goddesses in Veda? The Veda prophesies about oneness of God. Rig Veda (1:164:46) says, “Ekam Satyam Vipra Vahuda Vadanti”( God or Truth is one known by different names). These 330 million gods and goddesses do not exist physically. Even God cannot have the image, which is mentioned in Yajur Veda (32:3)—“Na tasya pratima asti”. These mentioned population of gods and goddesses are the distinct attributes of one God. These are the different characters of one God. Upon what character we worship the almighty; we also possess the same character. These are the quantum form to understand the God as a whole.

Conflict over my gods or your gods, is merely an insignia of ignorant. In any name or forms or belief or character, all the persons are referring the same God. Bhagawat Gita (4:11)—“What the form or name one remember me with faith, I help them”. Division of God on the basis of our mental concoction, and following it in ignorant, are never appreciated by God. All the creatures have emanated from one source, the God. The concept of multiple God has not been mentioned anywhere in any authentic scriptures.
