The Actual Meaning of Shakti Jagran

Among Hindus, during Durga Puja, Ratri Jagran (remain awakened in the night) or Shakti Jagran (Energy Awaking) is very prevalent.  Durga is known as Shakti (Power or energy). She is the consort of Lord Shiva. Shiva is Shav (corpse) without Shakti. Shiva even does not move unless Shakti, in the form of Kali, comes and dances on his body. Shakti is Prakriti and Shiva is Purusha. With the combination of Shiva and Shakti or Prakriti and Purusha, the rhythm of the cosmos is maintained. There is neither without either.

We refer women as Prakriti and men as Purusha. This is a misconception. Prakriti and Purusha are not related to women or men. Purusha and Prakriti are in everyone irrespective of men or women. Without the combination of Purusha and Prakriti, the manifestation of human is not possible. We all are souls wrapped by the male or female body. The soul does not have any gender. Our souls get male and female body according to our past Karmas. A soul cannot do anything without a body, and the body has no meaning without a soul. For our physical manifestation, the combination of soul and body is required.

Shiva is referred as the soul, the Purusha, and Shakti is referred as the body and its vital energy, the Prakriti. That is why Shiva, the Purusha, is Shav (Corpse) without Shakti, the Prakriti. For performing anything, starting from tiny to monumental, we require energy (Shakti). Shiva is the cosmic soul and Shakti is cosmic energy.

We are the part of the same cosmic soul. And, the same cosmic energy is flowing within everyone. But in most of us, the cosmic energy remains dormant. It requires invocation in order take the monumental work. It needs to be awakened. It can be awakened by following-up some specific procedure, discipline, dedication, and faith. This is symbolized by Shakti Jagaran. It is not related to any outer decoration or not sleeping entire night or fasting. It is related to invoking and awaking your internal potency for the specific task you want to accomplish in your life by killing the negative forces. The way, goddesses Durga (energy) was invoked to kill Mahisha-Sura (negative forces) to make positive energy flow everywhere.

Durga comes from the word Durg (fort). Durg means fort, which provides us safety from our external enemies. Durga means, who kills and safeguards us from negative forces (Mahisha-Sura). Durga Puja and Shakti Jagran are symbols and reminders of invoking and awaking our dormant internal positive energy by dispelling negative forces from our life. It must be practiced every day of the year, not only two times in a year during Durga Puja. Durga Puja occurs two times in a year for the reminder purpose only.

DO NOT INSULT YOUR EXISTENCE

Nothing exists in this universe without cause and purpose. Your existence too has certain cause and purpose. We bewilder in our life in this time and space because we are not sure about the cause and purpose of our existence. Without understanding the cause and purpose of our existence, we cannot do much in our life despite having immense skill and talent. We put hard work, but still, happiness and satisfaction are out of our reach. The simple reason of our restlessness in our life is that we are not aware of the cause and purpose of our existence.

We are nothing more than a part of crowd. In the crowd, no one can maintain the uniqueness of his own existence. You do what crowd does, you talk what crowd talks, you walk on the path which has been designed by crowd for you. You do it because you have never tried yourself to understand your cause and purpose of your existence.
You are getting disappointment in your life, you are stressed and tensed in your life, it means, you are doing something against your nature. You are doing something against your nature, because you do not understand your cause and purpose of your existence. In this case, you will always struggle and suffer in your life, no matter, what you have and what you do not have.

Distress, unhappiness or disappointments are not the nature of human. It is happening, because you are made for something, and you are doing something else.

Do not run behind the crowd, and not to care about what people would say about you, rather invest your time in finding the cause and purpose of your existence, and do what you are made for. When you do what you are made for, you will live your life quite comfortable and natural, if not, no one can save you from perpetual stress and tensions.

Your existence is crucial and for special purpose, do not insult it in living distress and unhappiness of any kind.

ACCEPT AND EXPERIENCE YOUR EXISTENCE

You cannot tolerate cheerfulness of others if you are not cheerful. A happy and successful person wants everyone to be happy and successful. He tries to make his surroundings happy and cheerful. An unhappy person wishes everyone to be unhappy. He feels good if someone is unhappy, and feels bad if someone is happy.

The bad and distressful news spread faster than good and happy ones. The speed of expansion of any news depends on its demand and recipients. Depressed, unhappy and negative people take more interest in the negative news than the positive one. If you become happy with someone`s failure, definitely, you would be jealous of his success. In other`s happiness, you find your distress and other`s distress you search your happiness.

The ultimate nature of human is to be happy. But the nasty habits of humans push them in the mire of unhappiness.

Only the unhappy people can dream to be happy. Why to dream, if you are already happy…! You crave for happiness in everything, because, you are not happy what you are and what you have. In fact, you have not accepted your own existence. A beggar can only dream to be an emperor. An emperor never dreams to be an emperor as he is already an emperor. The dream comes when you sleep. To see the reality, you need to wake-up. The time has come to wake up from your slumber of ignorance and accept and experience your existence as you are and attempt to make it better day by day, hour by hour, moment by moment.
